Odus the Owl Candy Crush Dreamworld Level 43: Dennis Yang’s Tips

Dreamworld Level 43 is one of the toughest levels in Odus the Owl’s Dreamworld mode of the Candy Crush Saga game. But software engineer and Candy Crush player Dennis Yang, 47, has managed to beat this level – with a massive 260,000+ points.

Odus the Owl’s Dreamworld Candy Crush Saga Level 43

I asked the player, who is from Pleasanton, California, in the USA, for some tips and strategies for playing Odus the Owl’s Dreamworld Level 43. To find out what he said, do read on.

Why is Dreamworld Level 43 so difficult for players?

We have been conditioned to unlock candies when this level is all about points, so we tend to waste precious moves to unlock things.  Also, keeping Mr Owl balanced is extremely important in this level.

What is a good starting board to begin the game with?

One with a good chance to break open multiple candies on the top level in the first few moves.

What are some tips that you can give readers for Dreamworld Level 43?

In addition to the tips given by Prischew Dot Com:

Try not to unlock the lower set of locked candies until you have unlocked some from the top row.  Those candies in between the locked rows can help unlock the top ones.  If they are used to unlock the bottom row first, it’ll become very difficult to do so to the top ones later.

Pop a horizontally striped candy in the row of locked candies and you can possibly unlock the rest of the row in one pop.

Fill Odus the Owl’s Moon Scale by matching candies at the bottom of the game board, so that cascades will take place. This fills up the owl meter more quickly.

Keep Odus the Owl balanced as a top priority. Make sure that the Moon Scale doesn’t topple over.

What was your own strategy to achieving such phenomenal success at Dreamworld Level 43?

Use colour bombs only on candies that are not on the ends of the owl scale. I think that this helped with balancing the scale.

Rather than setting off striped candies, I focused on getting colour bombs. These colour bombs give points while the striped candies tend to upset the owl scale

Once it looked like I’ll get the points and pass (I think I was over 140,000 then), I only matched candies near the top of the screen to minimize upsetting the owl scale.

Basically, keeping the scale balanced and so leverage the owl power to eliminate two kinds of candies each time, is a great tip.  Popping striped candies like I was doing before on level 43 is useless and often led to the owl tipping.

By the way, I did not have to use a booster to pass and still ended up with over 260,000 points.  Before that I had burned a number of colour bombs and 145,000 was the closest I got.  Paying close attention to balancing the owl scale and watching what I blew up, I passed with three stars – awesome!

What is the most important thing that players should do, to pass this level?

Keep Mr. Owl Balanced by making sure the Moon Scale does not topple over.

What do you think is the biggest challenge of Dreamworld Level 43?

The biggest challenge would be boards that give you little to no opening to pass.  I had a board that ran out of possible moves after two moves. With so few moves allowed, every move counts.

What are some of the most common mistakes at this level?

Forgetting about balancing the scale.  Not watching for secondary matches that may tip the scale.

Why is my level 43 only giving me 60 seconds to get 50,000 points and everyone else gets 30 moves? Also there is no Odus or moonscale. Has
anyone played this game at this level?

On two occasions, I have scored large numbers, e.g., 250,000+ and then a whopping 640,000+ after I lined up several bombs, literally too easy.
There must be a malfunction because in both cases it appeared that I had beat the level with all the animation, etc. However, when everything rolled over, both times I was informed that I did not reach the level. Strange. Any ideas on this?

I was about to be in a very bad mood because of the very hard Level, but with your help I managed to get three stars and more than 230.000 Points after only five more tries. Thanx from Germany!

Thanks for the tip. I actually stopped playing months ago because of this level. Seemed impossible to beat. I could never get close to the minimum points required to beat that level. After reading this, not only did I beat it with 3 stars, but earned 266,840 points! Really useful tips. Up until reading this, I was conditioned to unlock locked candy pieces and create special candies and use them. But when you put those aside, ta-da! Thank you!

Thanks for the tip about the moon scale! I’d figured leaving candies around towards the end was seemingly right, but you saved me some self doubt and blind alleys there too. After reading this I racked up 192K score after about 5 more tries. 3 stars!!
