Low-Carb Keto-Friendly Snack Brand, BenBanter, Launches New Cheese Puff

A low-carb food brand selling Keto-friendly snacks, BenBanter prides themselves on producing snacks that taste great and are easy to prepare, whilst at the same time, sourcing produce that meet the highest standards in the food industry.

As a result, their products are free of unhealthy ingredients such as unnecessary oils and sugars, and use real food ingredients, natural preservatives and flavourings.

Change the way you eat to get healthier

Said Mark Myerson, co-founder of BenBanter, “We started BenBanter more than a year ago, for one reason only: to help people get healthier. Originally, we did not plan to be in the food business and we had no experience in food whatsoever.”

He added, “But the only reason we ended up in food, is because we strongly believe that you cannot get healthier unless you change the way you eat. And many people these days are not eating healthy.”

Food industry is largely profit-based

As well, Mark had also cited the main motivations of the food industry being profit-based rather than health-based, as a reason why people are unable to eat healthy.

He said “We quickly realised that nobody cares about health. Profit is the main thing but at BenBanter, we really want to be different.”

For example, Mark had cited one of his visits to a potential nut manufacturer; upon asking how often they change the oil that they roast their nuts with, and he had been told that they do so only once every few days, or else when the nuts look bad.

He added, “But for us, we make sure that the nuts we use are dry-roasted, and have no oils, and are good for your health. We hope that this will build trust amongst our customer base in the long run. We regard ourselves as a social enterprise first and foremost, rather than a commercial one.”

Chronic diseases caused by carbohydrates

As a result of many people having poor diets, too, chronic illnesses such as obesity, diabetes, cancers, and cardiovascular disease are affecting many people in society.

And the primary cause of all these modern diseases, according to Mark, is insulin resistance. People who are insulin resistant are intolerant of carbohydrates. Put simply, eating too much carbs are making people sick, and carbs does not just refer to processed food and sugars; in fact, grains, starchy vegetables and fruit are also high in carbs.

Cutting Down Carbs

So in order to reduce these chronic ailments, restricting carbs, that is, choosing a Keto diet, should be the way to go.

Through putting himself on a strict, low-carb diet, Mark himself had successfully managed to transform his own life around, losing all his excess weight and returning to optimum health in the process.

Said Mark, “In the future, hundred of thousands of people will begin to realise that you have to cut carbs to get healthy. Of course you do not need to be super strict, but I urge everyone to just think about the amount of carbs that they are eating daily.”

Low-carb snacks by BenBanter

However, being human, sometimes cravings for certain snack foods will strike. Many starchy foods such as potato chips, cupcakes, bread, ice-cream and muffins, are out of bounds on a Keto diet.

That is where BenBanter comes in, to provide low-carb friendly snacks for those who are cutting down on their carbs, but also need to satisfy certain food cravings at the same time.

Said Mark, “On a Keto diet, it is hard to find snacks so we decided to go and find the best snacks that we could get and bring them to Singapore. But we had no idea if we would be able to sell anything or if there was a market at the beginning.”

But time proved otherwise, and gradually, BenBanter has gleaned a steady base of customers following the year that the brand were launched.

Media Launch Event for their Keto Cheese Puff

BenBanter held a media launch event recently for their newest product, the Keto Cheese Puff. I attended the event and while there, I had the chance to try a packet of the new item for myself.

And I had thought that BenBanter had done a great job in terms of creating a snack that is healthy, yet tasty and addictive at the same time.

Biting into their Cheese Puff, it was so enjoyable, light and crispy and it really reminded me of those “Cheese Balls” snacks in their signature blue canisters, that I used to love munching on when I was a little girl.

So it is really hard to believe that this snack had been made of nothing else but Gouda cheese, and moreover, contains just one gram of carbs per serving.

Thus, I think that I may have just found the perfect snack to munch on – whenever I watch my favourite movies and TV shows.

Other Low-carb Snacks and Foods

Besides the Keto Cheese Puff, we also got to try some of BenBanter’s other low-carb snacks, such as their granolas, muesli bars and crackers.

These too, had tasted good, and so to some extent, I think that they would be great alternatives to satisfy my cravings for cereals and cracker biscuits respectively.

And Keto-friendly bakery, Seriously Keto, also had a pop-up shop at the event, where they were selling their KetoBuns and Kaya spread for $16 each. So I decided to buy back one set for my family to try.

The event then ended with a dinner spread consisting of fried popcorn chicken, cheese slices, salad and cupcakes and with apple cider to wash everything down.

According to BenBanter, everything provided was supposed to be Keto-friendly, thus meaning that we could tuck in without guilt. And everything had tasted pretty yummy, especially the chocolate cupcakes provided by Seriously Keto, which had satisfied my sweet tooth nicely.

More Low-Carb Choices for Singaporeans

And as well, I also bumped into a few familiar faces and met some new friends amongst the Keto community in Singapore, too. So overall I would say that I had a good time at the event, and it is great to know that brands such as BenBanter exist, to provide more choices to Singaporeans who are on a Keto or Low-Carb diet.

Said Mark, “There is definitely a market in Singapore for the Low-Carb way of eating, and we hope that this is only the beginning.”
