Herald in prosperity and wealth this year with BURGER KING®’s New Golden Huat Floss Burgers

To usher in prosperity and an abundance of wealth this year, BURGER KING® has introduced the all-new limited edition Golden Huat Floss Burgers – the Golden Huat Floss Double CHICK’N CRISP® and the Golden Huat Floss FISH’N CRISP™, both of which are set to kick start a great year filled with fortune and happiness, with their lucky golden hues and their tasty golden chicken floss.

The vibrancy of the festive season manifests in an array of symbolism that signifies all things prosperous. So this means that with their shades of gold, the two BURGER KING® Golden Huat Burgers wish the recipient to reap an abundance of prosperity year after year, thus ensuring a bountiful year ahead.

BURGER KING® gave me S$20 worth of vouchers as part of a media drop

As part of a media drop, BURGER KING® gave me vouchers in order to try out the two Golden Huat Floss Burgers for myself.

To be honest, when I first saw the poster displaying these two burgers plastered on the bus stops and other public places across Singapore, my first thought was that the Golden Huat burgers, especially with the chicken floss on top, had reminded me of the United States President Donald Trump’s hair-do!

Looking closer at the posters, I had then realised that it was a BURGER KING® advertisement for the upcoming Chinese New Year season.

So in this way, they certainly caught my attention and made me want to find out more.

The Golden Huat Floss Double CHICK’N CRISP®

The Golden Huat Floss Double CHICK’N CRISP® is made up of double layer of tasty crispy chicken fillets, a slice of American cheese, and fresh Batavia lettuce served between a toasted four-inch sesame seed bun. The bun is then covered with creamy mayonnaise and further topped with golden fluffy chicken floss.

When I tried this burger, I liked the addition of the fluffy chicken floss, because it had brought out and enhanced the flavour of the chicken. At the same time, the chicken floss was slightly sweet but the chicken fillet was salty and savoury, so this created a contrast of tastes in my mouth, too.

I would say that I have always liked the contrast of sweet and salty flavours in the same dish, because I think that this is an excellent balance.

It was also good that when I ate the burger, I discovered that there had been a generous amount of chicken floss too, not only on the top of the bun, but also sandwiched in between the bun and on top of the chicken.

However the chicken fillet though, may have been slightly on the dryer side and the cheese unfortunately did not really do much to moisten the meat.

The Golden Huat Floss FISH’N CRISP™

On the other hand, the Golden Huat Floss FISH’N CRISP™ consists of a layer of tender fish fillet topped with American cheese and fresh Batavia lettuce served between a toasted four inch sesame seed bun covered with creamy mayonnaise and golden fluffy chicken floss.

In this burger, what I liked was the contrast in the flavours between the chicken floss and the fish fillet. The chicken floss had a bit of a sweet note to it, and to a small extent, this had balanced out the slightly fishy flavours coming out from the deep fried fish.

In my opinion, the addition of the floss had been good, because I think that if it were eaten by itself, the fried fish may have been a tad on the fishy side – for my palette.

But once again though, there was also a generous amount of chicken floss in this burger, so it is good that BURGER KING® is quite consistent with the amount of floss that has been sprinkled onto their burgers.

New BURGER KING® Store at Heartbeat@Bedok

In other news regarding the popular fast food chain, BURGER KING® has also opened its largest restaurant to date in Singapore and the region at the Heartbeat@Bedok late last month. The new 239-seater restaurant offers an architecturally delightful design with facilities that cater to the needs of BURGER KING®’s multigenerational customers.

Having first arrived on Singapore shores in 1982 with the opening of its first restaurant in Peninsula Plaza, BURGER KING® Singapore Pte Ltd today operates more than 40 outlets across Singapore, in addition to having a delivery service for customers to enjoy the flame-grilled taste of their burgers.

And some of the best-selling products at BURGER KING®  outlets today, include the WHOPPER sandwiches, the chicken patties and the onion rings.

Takes inspiration from the human heart

The layout of new restaurant takes inspiration from the two ‘chambers’ of Heartbeat@Bedok that resemble a human heart.

The expansive seating area is organised into thematic sections, catering to individuals and large family gatherings alike, and a well planned quiet study corner is equipped with electric plugs for students to huddle over academic pursuits and revision for their exams.

Heartbeat@Bedok is one of the newest and largest integrated complexes in Singapore

Said Goh Chin Hou, General Manager of BURGER KING® Singapore, “To complement this wonderful lifestyle hub that we are in, we decided to offer our customers a feast for their eyes when they come down to enjoy their favourite BURGER KING® meal.”

One of the newest and largest integrated complexes in Singapore, Heartbeat@Bedok is designed to cater to Singapore’s multigenerational population to spend time together, in support of Singapore’s vision to create a caring and gracious community. The mall has healthcare to sports facilities to a wide range of dining options, everything that families need under one roof.

The Super Tree

Some of the more surprising elements at the new store, include the Super Tree, which represents Singapore as a Garden City and its citizens’ love for nature. As well, it also breathes a new life into the wooden frame used to form the installation.

I had recently paid a visit to the new BURGER KING® outlet at Heartbeat@Bedok and this Super Tree intrigued me; but in fact, I admit that it took me some time to realise what it was when I first set my eyes on it because it looked like rather abstract art, not unlike the Super Trees over at the Gardens By The Bay.

Running Tracks

There are also ‘keep active’ running tracks at the new restaurant, that was designed with Sports SG in mind, to support its vision for a healthy lifestyle and in keeping with the mall’s sports focus.

In fact, the first thing that I had noticed at the Heartbeat@Bedok outlet had been this running track. I generally do not associate BURGER KING®, a fast food outlet, with healthy food, so this really stood out and had intrigued me.

And to bring the service crew closer to the customer, BURGER KING® has introduced individual ordering pods – that makes it more convenient for customers to help themselves to the food item or drink of their choice.

Ordering Pods

I had thought the presence of ordering pods were intriguing too when I spotted them, and felt this was a reminder that our world is indeed becoming more high-tech than ever, these days.

But instead of trying out these new ordering pods, I still placed my order with the counter staff, simply because I am more used to it. Perhaps I will try the order pods next time when I am at the Heartbeat@Bedok outlet, then.

Overall thoughts: An eye catching outlet

Overall my thoughts are that this is certainly one of the more eye catching BURGER KING® branches in Singapore.

So I feel that if you happen to be around the Bedok area, then I think it is worth checking out to have a look and perhaps get a Golden Huat Floss Burger meal too there, whilst you are at it.
