Trying Out KFC’s New Dip, Dunk ’N’ Share Bucket And The KFC Singapore App [Review]

This Christmas, KFC Singapore is set to change everything that you may know so far about their chicken tenders… with the introduction of their brand new Dip, Dunk ’N’ Share Bucket.

KFC is the leading quick-service restaurant in the chicken category in Singapore, and is renowned for serving its customers with complete, delicious family meals at affordable prices. Today there are now 85 KFC restaurants in Singapore.

What The Dip, Dunk ’N’ Share Bucket Is About

Each Dip, Dunk ’N’ Share Bucket comes with 6pc Hot and Crispy Tenders, 12pc Nuggets, one Medium Fries, 2 Sour Cream and Onion Sauce, 2 BBQ Sauce and 2 Tubs of Spicy BBQ Pops.

And the new sharing bucket puts a spin on the concept of double dipping in three easy steps.

This is because firstly, you Dip a Hot and Crispy Chicken Tender in some rich Sour Cream and Onion Sauce for that tangy kick.

Then you Dunk the Hot and Crispy Tender in a brimming tub of Spicy BBQ Pops to provide that extra crunch.

Invited To A Media Tasting

I was recently invited to KFC Singapore’s Kallang outlet to try their new Dip, Dunk ’N’ Share Bucket.

And I have to say that I had pleasantly enjoyed the dipping experience.

My Dipping Experience

Out of the two types of sauce, I actually preferred the BBQ Sauce because when dipped in this sauce, this gave the Chicken Tenders a fiery BBQ zing, and then together with the Spicy BBQ Pops, it brought out and accentuated the BBQ flavour even more.

I also liked the crunch that the Spicy BBQ Pops brought to the Chicken Tenders, adding more textures to the meal.

As for the Sour Cream and Onion Sauce, I thought that when eaten by itself, the sour note was quite strong, but when it was dunked into the Spicy BBQ Pops, the Spicy BBQ flavour proved to be the dominant favour here, and the main role of the Sour Cream and Onion sauce was mainly to neutralise the spiciness to some extent. Still, it was delicious in its own way, though.

The meat for the Chicken Tenders had been just like what I have come to expect from KFC Singapore – it was slightly crunchy on the outside and warm and juicy on the inside, and it was good that the texture and taste profile of all the six pieces of Tenders in my Bucket had been consistently done.

As an experiment, I also tried dipping the Fries into both the Sour Cream and Onion as well as the BBQ Sauce and topping it off with the Spicy BBQ Pops, and this experience was surprisingly pleasant too, with the Spicy BBQ Pops adding an extra layer of textures and flavours to the Fries. Definitely try this out too for yourself, if you are ordering the Dip, Dunk ’N’ Share Bucket.

The price of the Dip, Dunk ’N’ Share Bucket is S$15.95 for both Dine In and Take Away orders.

A KFC Festive Bundle

For those who have bigger families, KFC Singapore also has the Festive Bundle, which includes a Dip, Dunk ’N’ Share Bucket, and an addition 9pc Chicken.

This Bundle will set you back by S$38.85 for both Dine In and Take Away orders.

Both bundles will be made available from today – Friday, 14 December 2018 – onwards.

All-New KFC Singapore App

And for those who are thinking of braving the queues during your meal times to try out the new Dip, Dunk ’N’ Share Bucket, here is more good news… you now do not have to queue up to get your KFC Singapore fix.

This is because KFC has launched the new KFC Singapore App, which is an omni-present channel platform that allows you to place your orders via a single platform with dine-in, take-away and delivery options.

So it means that you can browse the KFC Singapore menu at your own leisurely pace and place your orders via app or website wherever you are and choose to Dine In at your favourite outlet, pick up your food on your way home, or even have it delivered to your doorstep.

Invited To Test The App

I was invited to try out the KFC Singapore App during the food tasting session and the procedure proved to be a little more involved than I had initially expected.

In order to use the app, you first need to create an account with them and when you make the initial order, you also have to input your credit card details into the app. This process can take about five minutes to set up at the beginning.

But for subsequent orders though, you only need to make payment with a quick tap and you will then be well on your way to tucking into your favourite fried chicken meal.

KFC Singapore had actually invited us to try and redeem a free egg tart using the app with a promo code they gave us.

But there was apparently a drawback with the app system, because due to the credit card payment method that was in operation, it is not possible to input a transaction that is worth S$0.00.

And this was apparently the reason why I had not been able to add the egg tart into my basket, despite multiple attempts.

KFC had later apologised for this as being an oversight on their part, but they gave us the egg tart anyway.

And the chocolate hazelnut egg tarts, which were served warm, had been quite a delicious way to end our savoury chicken meal on a sugary note.

A Special Sign-Up Offer

For customers who are keen to try out the app for themselves, KFC Singapore has prepared a special sign-up offer. Just register for an account in order to receive a FREE 1pc Chicken Set worth S$6.50. This is redeemable via Dine In or Take Away with a minimum S$10 spent.

And you will also receive first dibs on KFC latest’s promotions and get exclusive member rewards, too.

So get hold of the new KFC Singapore App and satiate your chicken cravings in record time. This App is a free download on both the Apple and the Android App Stores.
