National netball players to run Ground Zero Run – Run for Humanity

Netball players from Singapore’s 21 and under netball team, will be taking part in the Ground Zero Run – Run for Humanity this year. So runners will have the chance to chat and mingle with the national netball stars.

And after taking part in the race, the national netball players will be distributing the food packs used in the run, to local families in need.

Mercy Relief has been chosen as Netball Singapore's official charity.

Mercy Relief chosen as Netball Singapore’s official charity

This is because Mercy Relief has been chosen as Netball Singapore’s official adopted charity on a new three-year partnership – as part of the first official collaboration between a local national sports association (NSA) and a humanitarian assistance and disaster relief organisation in Singapore.

Netball Singapore’s first CSR project will be at the run

The run, which takes place at East Coast Park on 14 August this year, will be Netball Singapore’s first corporate social responsibility (CSR) project in their partnership with Mercy Relief.

Ground Zero – Run for Humanity aims to raise awareness for disaster relief, to local families in need, as well as increasing awareness for disaster relief efforts and the difficult experiences of disaster survivors – while benefitting families in Singapore who need the help.

How the partnership will continue to work out

In future, this partnership will continue to see Mercy Relief and Netball Singapore working hand in hand, to fundraise regularly in support of Mercy Relief’s regional disaster relief and sustainable development initiatives.
