Prischew.com Wins Site Of The Month (September) – Personal Category, at Exabytes SWA 2018

The prize giving ceremony for the Singapore Website Awards (SWA) 2018 took place last Wednesday evening at the Lifelong Learning Institute at Paya Lebar.

Rewards The Best Web Designers, Developers And Agencies

SWA seeks to recognise and reward the outstanding performance, talent and effort of the best web designers, web developers and web agencies. At the same time, they wanted to encourage creativity, sharing and improvement of the overall web design quality in Singapore.

It was organised by The Exabytes Group, the leading Cloud Service Provider in South East Asia that specialises in providing web hosting services such as cloud hosting, shared hosting, email hosting, domain name registration and digital marketing. Today they serve over 100,000 customers in 121 countries worldwide.

There are three different categories that make up the Awards, in order to cater to the vast variety of websites available – these are the Personal, Commercial or E-Commerce categories. As PRISCHEW.COM is considered as a personal blog site, I had entered it into the Personal category.

Ceremony Begins

The ceremony kicked off at 6pm in the evening, with guests being served catered dinner that had included spaghetti bolognese, fried cuttlefish balls, siew mai, ham sandwiches and chocolate eclairs.

After the guests had tucked into their food, introductions were then made, with each of the three judges giving short speeches.

The judges were:

  • Alvin Ho, Associate Creative Director, GERMS
  • Pranav Joshi, Associate Director, UX, Global Software, Engineering
  • Linh Pham, Head Of Marketing, Wowoo X

The Prize Presentations

Ho presented the prizes for the Commercial category, and this was followed by Joshi, who presented the prizes for the Personal category.

PRISCHEW.COM had been named as the Site Of The Month for September 2018, and so I went up onto the stage to collect my prize, as well as to give a short acceptance speech and also shared a little bit of the background on PRISCHEW.COM.

My prize had comprised of a trophy, a certificate and S$500 Exabytes credits.

After that, the prizes for the E-Commerce category were presented by Pham, before the ceremony was wrapped up with the Site Of The Year awards for each of the three categories.

Ceremony Concludes

Upon the conclusion of the ceremony, prize winners had then been invited to stay behind, in order to give short interviews about our website and share tips to potential web designers, developers and owners.

I had decided to stay back for the interview, which had been pretty quick and lasted roughly about five to six minutes, before then making a move and heading back home.
