You can travel back in time to pre-war Singapore through a special costumed carnival celebrating the nation’s cuisines and heritage, with a slew of exciting free day and night programmes and activities, which are set to give both locals and tourists alike, a truly Singaporean adventure in celebration of Singapore’s 52nd Birthday.

Heritage Carnival

From 4 to 13 August, you can meet and interact with roving costumed characters from Singapore pre-war days and tuck into delights from more than 20 delicious food stalls, such as Peranakan Kueh, Burger Bombs and Chendol, at the Heritage Carnival 2017 – So Singapore.

As well there will be an outdoor obstacle course for the little ones, movies under the stars and photo props.

Sentosa Merlion

From now till 27 August, there is a special National Day edition of the Merlion Magic Lights – So Singapore, to thrill guests with a audio and visual effects, as well as augmented reality (AR) features, when they download the free AR app (marq+).

And using the app, simply by pointing your smartphone at Singapore icons planted around the Merlion, Beach Plaza and Beach Station, you can also see AR graphics and short write ups about each icon.

Performances

Taking place from now till 26 August, Sounds of the Lion City is a weekly Saturday performance held, featuring traditional Face Changing performances, Wushu, Peranakan folk songs, Classic Indian songs and East Meets West fusion music that combines instruments such as the erhu, a modern music keyboard and so on.

For Sports Fans

If you love sports and adventure, there will be the Sentosa Adventure Race 2017, organised as part of the annual GetActive Singapore. This is a 5.2km adventure race that spans Palawan Beach, Siloso Beach and Siloso Skywalk, and includes both water and vertical obstacles across seven different checkpoints.

Deals for Singaporeans and Singapore Residents

Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and Singapore Residents, including employment pass holders, and those on work permits and dependent passes, can enjoy attractive deals and big discounts of up to 52 per cent at Sentosa attractions.

These include Trick Eye Museum Singapore, Sentosa Merlion, Singapore Cable Car Sky Network and so on.
