Formula One team Scuderia Torro Rosso. has extended their long-term sponsorship agreement with Singaporean company Acronis.
Said Torro Rosso driver Carlos Sainz, “It’s great news that Acronis has decided to support our team with a long term partnership. Formula One is a technologically intensive sport and Torro Rosso is looking forward to working together with Acronis.”
Acronis develops on-premises and cloud software
A private technology company that was founded in Singapore by Serguei Beloussov in 2003, Acronis develops on-premises and cloud software for data recovery, backups, secure file syncing, sharing and data access.
Acronis has 18 offices worldwide and cloud centres in international locations such as Singapore, United States, and Germany. It is the first principal company in Singapore to sponsor a Formula One team.
Acronis can offer Scuderia Torro Rosso what they need
Said Torro Rosso Team Principal Franz Tost, “It is becoming increasingly more important to protect our technical information with a high standard of software in today’s increasing competitive Formula One environment. Acronis can offer us exactly what we need.”
He added, “Now that we have a long-term deal, we can’t wait to start working with Acronis not just in terms of sponsorship, but also in adopting their data protection products within our factory and racing team. I am sure that we will both benefit from this technical cooperation and it will help our team, moving forward.”
Torro Rosso will use Acronis hybrid cloud data protection solutions
Torro Rosso will use Acronis hybrid cloud data protection solutions to guarantee data availability when it is most needed, that is, during races and preparing for new events. Each race weekend, there are hundreds of sensors with multiple data points that monitor the cars, providing real time information, which is immediately analysed and used throughout the race to improve performance.
The data is also transferred to the Torro Rosso base in Italy, where a support group of engineers and data analysts use it for making improvements to cars and developing new race strategies.

The collected data will also fuel rapid innovation and enables the team to make educated decisions more efficiently.
