Get Fit Tomorrow with Virgin Active and Les Mills @ Tanjong Pagar Center

Tomorrow, on Saturday 7 July, Virgin Active Singapore is joining hands with New Zealand fitness company Les Mills – which offers choreographed exercise-to-music group fitness classes, for a line-up of fitness classes that will be spread out throughout the day.

The beacon of healthy living in the Central Business District, Tanjong Pagar Center’s commitment is demonstrated through its year-long wellness and sports initiatives to encourage city-dwellers to stay active.

The Virgin Active classes that will be taking place tomorrow, Saturday 7 July, are as follows.

Barre

Combining cardio and strength with high reps of small range of motion movements and light weights, this brand new offering by Virgin Active, combines together classic ballet positions, with modern music.

I have tried out Barre classes a couple of times and I think this is a rather interesting and engaging fitness workout that really works out the whole body.

This is a 30-minute class that takes place at 12.15pm.

Body Jam

Choreographed by Gandalf Archer-Mills in Auckland, New Zealand, this is a fun class where participants can dance to the beat of the music. So it will definitely appeal to those who love dancing.

This session will last 45-minutes and will take place at 1pm.

GRIT Cardio

Consisting of high intensity interval training workout that combines short, sharp demanding exercises with running and plyometric, this class is certainly not for the faint-hearted and you can expect a challenging and stimulating workout that is guaranteed to get your heart rate pumping and also make you sweat buckets at the same time.

An intense, 30-minute session, this class will be happening at 2pm.

Body Combat

This is a fitness workout that combines a rousing mix of martial arts including Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing and KungFu. Here you can learn to jab, box, kick, block and strike using major muscles, for a holistic workout, that is set to music.

I have tried Body Combat before and I would say that it is definitely fun and engaging and you don’t really feel as though you are working out at all.

If you have ever wanted to retaliate by punching someone in a fit of anger, then I would say that this is the class for you.

A one-hour long class, this session will take place at 2.45pm.

Body Balance

A yoga-based activity where participants groove to an inspiring soundtrack, this fitness class embraces the elements of T’ai C’hi and Pilates.

Do note that this one-hour class will take place on 7 July, at 11am, and it will then recur again every Saturday from 14 July onwards, from 10.30am to 11.30am.

What should I wear?

So as you can see, there is definitely something to cater to fitness enthusiasts of all walks of life.

Whether you prefer something more challenging and stimulating or something more relaxing, there will certainly be a class for you.

And if you are interested in attending any of these workouts tomorrow, then you should preferably be dressed in comfortable workout attire, supportive shoes and socks, and be equipped with a drink bottle and a towel.
