Today ASICS announced the launch of their newest iteration in the GEL-KAYANO series, the GEL-KAYANO 24.
Shoes designed with the performance runner in mind
The new shoes are designed with the performance runner in mind, and incorporates a bunch of ASICS technologies including MetaClutch, which was introduced on ASICS’ most innovative long distance running shoe, the MetaRun, in 2016.
Said Gerard Klein, Senior General Manager, Global Performance Running Footwear Division, ASICS Corporation, “Running is a growing part of people’s fitness routines today. We have a large community of loyal GEL-KAYANO runners that will recognise the unsurpassed comfort and ride of the shoe. We invite all runners to experience the right blend of cushioning and stability. The GEL-KAYANO 24 is a great new flagship model in the ASICS running range that will excite everyone.”
Features of the shoe
The GEL-KAYANO series, for more than 24 years, has provided runners across a range of levels, with constant stability and comfort.
The new model incorporates the sloped Dynamic DUOMAX Support system to maintain stability from the first strides to the final miles of the run.
The MetaClutch technology on the other hand, has built in memory foam to perfectly wrap the lateral and medial side of the ankle, giving runners a more personalised heel fit.
The shoe also contains a redesigned jacquard mesh upper to enhance the fit and comfort, as well as Ortholite X-40 Sockliner for an increased density to provide greater bounce back against the ground.
As well the SpEVA Lasting features offer unparalleled upper support in the shoes, when combined with the visible forefoot and rear foot GEL and FlyteFoam midsoles, runners can have even greater levels of comfort on long distance runs.
The patented structured panels will give runners extra foot support on long runs too, and this feature is especially beneficial for overpronators.
Where and when the GEL-KAYANO 24 shoes are available
The GEL-KAYANO 24 shoes retail for SGD259 from July 2017 at ASICS stores and selected speciality running stores. The shoe will be available in a variety of colours for both men and women.
As well, there will also be wide width editions available (2E and 4E for men and D for women) in the coming months.
