The meals are provided by DoSiRak, the Official Food Partner of the Puma Night Run, taking place on 17 October this year.

The DoSiRak meals will be based on a re-invention of the Korean bento box, comprising of rice, meat and vegetables. Similar to the more common Japanese style bento box, this is an interesting and nutritious take-away concept for calorie-conscious diners who love their Korean food.

Well-balanced meals with plenty of carbohydrates, proteins and vegetables

At DoSiRak, the meals are all well-balanced and contain the perfect portion of carbohydrates, proteins and vegetables – and have less than 500 calories each. The ingredients, as well as the cooking methods, have been strictly examined by a certified nutritionist.

The meals will be available at the race village for SGD10 for a tub, and will comprise of proteins, such as soya sesame chicken, spicy chicken, beef bulgogi, kimchi tofu or even a sweet potato, placed on top of a carbohydrate base such as brown rice, buckwheat noodles or cauliflower rice.

Meals are all of a high quality and comprise of natural ingredients

Quality is important for DoSiRak meals. These are prepared according to the sous-vide method i.e. sealing the ingredients into a plastic bag and then placing them into a water bath. When cooking has finished, the proteins are subsequently placed on top of a carbohydrate base of white rice, brown rice or buckwheat noodles, and then topped with raw or lightly blanched vegetables.

Finally, to complete the meal, a home-made sauce is added, comprising of completely natural ingredients like pear extract. And this is all served within a DoSiRak’s signature hand-held tub.

However, even though the meals are nutritious, they are also very delicious and full of flavour. And you will get to experience this first-hand for yourself, at the upcoming Puma Night Run 2015, next Saturday night.
