Taking place on Sunday 21 May 2017 at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, the Standard Chartered KL Marathon (SCKLM) will be into its 9th year in 2017.

And to reward their loyal runners, the SCKLM race organiser Dirigo Events is opening up pre bookings for those who took part in individual events in the 2016 edition. These are inclusive of the Run for a Reason charity programme participants too. The pre registration period is currently on – from 7 December to midnight on 31 December 2016.
SCKLM organisers are opening up pre registration slots for loyal runners from 2016.
According to SCKLM, this is their way of saying thank you to the tremendous support and enthusiasm shown by their past runners.
However, do note that 2016 runners who had registered for the race via promo codes or sponsored entries – including Standard Chartered Bank staff – are not eligible for the 2017 pre registration entries.
Registrations for the public opens on Monday 16 January at 10.00am in the morning.
Race Categories available
Runners taking part in the 2017 event, will be able to choose from the following distance categories.
- 42.195km Full Marathon
- 21.1km Half Marathon
- 10km Run
- 5km Fun Run
- 3km Kids Dash – for kids aged between 10-12 years old
- 1km Kids Dash – for kids aged between 6-9 years old
These categories are targeted at catering to runners with different abilities.
