KeeperBand® is set to revolutionise the way that you run or play sports.

Designed by FunFit, with extensive support from DesignSingapore Council, KeeperBand is the world’s first 360-degree built-in storage for fitness enthusiasts. This is how it works. This hidden storage will put you at ease, regardless of what sport you are pursuing.

A homegrown label, FunFit aspires to create lovely active apparel and swimwear that would get customers excited about their next workout or beach session.

Enough storage space for a mobile phone and more

Unlike the conventional holder that only fits in one phone, there is enough storage space for more in the KeeperBand® even after you have already put your phone inside – anything from earphones, cash, card, keys, and even medication and your passport – for overseas runs.

Testing out the KeeperBand®

I had the chance to test out the KeeperBand® for myself.

Thanks to FunFit, I had the chance to test out the KeeperBand® for myself. When the KeeperBand® first arrived, I must admit that I had initially been slightly sceptical that it could contain so much items without bouncing or feeling uncomfortable. The design at first glance, is basically similar to an ordinary pair of sports shorts – but with a major difference. To squeeze your belongings into the KeeperBand®, there is a flat and hidden pocket snugly located at the inner back of the shorts, and the pocket, which actually goes all the way around the waist circumference, is much larger than most typical running shorts have.

When I tried out the KeeperBand® during some of my training runs, I admit that I had been quite impressed. I usually have my wallet, house keys and my mobile phone (iPhone 7+) coming along with me for the run, and it had been actually quite comfortable to store all my items inside the shorts. Unlike what I had expected, my things did not weigh me down at all or even bounce in the slightest, when I was running. In fact, I found that I was able to run my usual pace, quite easily, without disruptions. This is thanks to the bounce absorber feature that provides a stable balance and keeps the essentials firmly in place.

At the same time, I had also quickly realised that I did not need to worry that my stuff would be able to come out of the KeeperBand® pocket; due to the tight and snug fit of the KeeperBand® shorts, my things were quite well protected during my runs.

The snug fitting of the KeeperBand® shorts had somewhat reminded me of compression tights, which is not really an issue for me, as I am used to wearing compression when I am running. But the KeeperBand® shorts is also stretchy at the same time, which makes taking the shorts on and off, quite an easy task.

As well, I noticed too, that the KeeperBand® also comes with two drawstrings at the side for length adjustment, so you can decide if you want your shorts to be slightly shorter or longer. This is quite useful to cater to people with different preferences.

And in terms of wicking moisture, the KeeperBand® also does quite a good job. This is important when running in Singapore’s tropical heat.

The only issue I have with the KeeperBand® is that it might be a bit hard to take out your stuff mid-run, say, if you are on a rather long run and you need to reach into the KeeperBand pocket to get your wallet to buy a drink at the nearby kopitiam or convenience store. This requires some digging and moving things around within the pocket, especially if say, the wallet is not near the entrance of the KeeperBand® pocket.

Suited for swimming

The KeeperBand® shorts are also suitable for water activities like swimming, but I have been hesitant to take them on a swim as I unfortunately did not feel comfortable with bringing my wallet or my mobile phone into the pool.

Other Features

According to FunFit, other features of the KeeperBand® shorts are that it is machine washable and gives adequate UV protection to ward against against skin cancer when you are going about your outdoor activities.

KeeperBand is supposed to be anti-chafing.

As well, they are also supposed to be anti-chafing – so this means that you can go and do your long runs for your marathon training, without worrying about chafing problems.
