This year, runners can gear up for a three-day engaging and interactive experience at the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS) Race Pack Collection. In partnership with the SCMS, adidas will turn this year’s race pack collection into a three-day immersive experience.
Features a wide range of activities to gear runners up for the race
Featuring a wide range of activities, the event, themed Boost Singapore, is aimed to motivate and gear runners up for the race, which takes place on Sunday 7 December this year.
One of the key event highlights is that workshops and talks about race strategy and preparation, will be given.
Conducted by personalities such as adidas running ambassador Melvin Wong, as well as Fabian Williams – Head Coach of Fabian Williams Coaching Concepts (FWCC), runners will get advice on how to prepare for the SCMS, both physically and mentally.
To add to that, physiotherapist Aparna Shah and marathon veteran Azhar Azib will also be sharing some useful tips and tricks on coping with aches and pains that runners may experience on race day.
Here is a list of workshops and talks that will be conducted during the SCMS race pack expo.
An active foot scan station
As well, an active foot scan station using state of the art BOOST® foam cushioning – will also be made available to runners. Here they will be able to ascertain their runner type of ideal shoe fit, with the help of licensed Singapore podiatrist Tye Lee Tze.
Brightly coloured wristbands to foster community spirit and friendly competition amongst runners
Brightly colour coded wristbands will also be given out to runners based on their area of residence i.e. Central (Green), East (Purple), West (Orange), North East (Yellow) and North (Blue) – for the first time in a Singapore Marathon.
Both adidas and SCMS hope that this will boost a sense of community amongst runners residing in the same region, and fostering healthy competition amongst the SCMS participants at the same time.
Personalise the wristbands with your race finishing time
To personalise these wristbands further, runners can also engrave their SCMS race finishing times on them, once they have completed their race. At the race site, the adidas miTime engraving service will be made available for the first 200 runners on a first-come-first-served basis.
But the remaining runners can still get this done – if they head to the adidas Originals Cathay store from 8 to 21 December, 12pm to 8pm.
This engraving service is complimentary for runners but those who do so are encouraged to make a donation to Singapore-registered charity Hope Worldwide (Singapore). For every dollar in donations made, adidas will match this, dollar for dollar.
