Come mid-September, participants of the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS) this year will be able to download a brand new app – to prepare for the race, which falls on 7 December.
App will contain plenty of useful information on training and the race
This app will contain a range of training and race-day features, providing all the necessary information and technological assistance that a runner will need for this year’s edition of the SCMS.
This will be available to download for free on both the iOS and Android platforms.
Developed by Tata Consultancy Services
The app is developed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which announced yesterday that they are now the official IT consultancy partner for the SCMS 2014.
It is the first tie-up with a running event in the Asia-Pacific region for this leading IT services company, which has partnered with many renowned international running events such as the TCS New York Marathon, Amsterdam Marathon and the Chicago Marathon.
Handle IT and technological support
Besides the mobile application, TCS will provide IT and technology support for SCMS 2014.
Said Vish Iyer, President of TCS Asia-Pacific, “TCS is excited to be the IT Consultancy partner of the SCMS 2014, a first-time relationship with a major running event for us in the Asia-Pacific region. This is an outstanding platform for us to combine our commitment to running and health and well-being in general.”
Added Lawrence Roberts, Commercial Director of Spectrum Worldwide, the organisers of the SCMS 2014, “We’re delighted that TCS has chosen the SCMS as its first Marathon Sponsorship in the Asia-Pacific. Their involvement in the SCMS 2014 race is a testament to the stature of the event in this part of the world and we are looking forward to working closely with the TCS team in developing a world-class race app for our participants.”
