Keppel Bay

This is a beautiful and simple Singapore running route that suits all types of runners. You begin your run near the Harbourfront MRT station and head towards the Keppel offshore island. Try this route at sunset – this is when the view is usually at its best.

However, do note that shower and bathroom facilities are not very prevalent along the route, so be prepared before you actually embark on this run.

Its length suits casual joggers as well as serious runners.

East Coast Park

This is one of the most well-known and scenic Singapore running routes and is a great one for beginners. It is also rather popular amongst runners who are trying to build up distance for races, as it is roughly 10km one way, beginning from Car Park B1 at the Big Splash area.

The beautiful seaside view and the lovely sea breeze blowing through you as you complete your run also makes running here extremely pleasant and rewarding.

Moreover, there is a hawker centre, local coffee outlets, fast food joints and restaurants on this route, where you can stop for a delicious feast after sweating it out along the track. Water points and toilets are also available every few kilometres, so you won’t need to worry about having to find somewhere to do your business!

MacRitchie Reservoir

This is a very scenic Singapore running route that really brings you close to nature and eventually leads you into the jungle. But if you are planning to run here, make sure that you eat up any food inside your bag before actually embarking on the run – because there are monkeys here, that will not hesitate to steal food.

Make sure that you go to the toilet before your run too, because there aren’t any bathroom facilities or water fountains along the way. But if you really need to do your business during the run, there are always the bushes – as a last resort.

Southern Ridges Route

This is a very challenging Singapore running route because of the numerous up-hills so do not undertake it unless you are an advanced runner. It typically takes runners through Mount Faber, Kent Ridge and Telok Blangah Hill parks.

However if you do manage to get to the top of this tough and sloping 9km route, the view at the top is really rewarding, with beautiful views of nature and the Henderson Waves.

Hi, I was wondering, do any of these routes (or parks in Singapore in general) offer baggage deposit and or shower services? I am planning to take MRT to get there, so how can it work?

    thanks

    • Priscilla says:

East Coast Park has both shower facilities and baggage deposit (lockers).

But it may pay to call the park you’re interested in first, to check it out before you go there. 🙂

      • Andreas says:

thanks for the fast reply… can you provide some more info where exactly are the lockers and showers located? Also, how I can find contact details of more parks…

        best

        • Priscilla says:

At East Coast Park, there’s lockers near Burger King (area C). Further down, another set of lockers are located at the indoor football area (UberSports East Coast). Shower facilities are at the toilets located in between the hawker centre and the Bedok Jetty.

You can’t get to east coast park by train, though. On weekdays, you have to take the bus to Marine Parade and walk to the park from there through the underpass behind NTUC FairPrice. On weekends, you can take bus 401 directly to the park from Bedok MRT.

To find out more about parks and their facilities, you can contact the National Parks Board at: 1800-471 7300

Hope that the above info has been useful.
