Aiming to raise funds and awareness for the less fortunate who struggle with poverty on a daily basis, the Bare Your Sole 2016 event, will take place at OCBC Square on September 10 at 7.30am.
Funds raised will go to Project HomeWorks
Bare your Sole 2016 will comprise of two categories, a 2.5km and a 5km walk, and funds raised will go towards Project HomeWorks. This is a charity initiative that aims to improve the living conditions of the elderly, sick and disabled. This year is the 10th anniversary of the programme.
Last year, the Bare your Sole event had attracted 6,000 participants and more than $350,000 was raised for Project HomeWorks.
Said Yong Teck Meng, National Director of Habitat for Humanity Singapore, “Bare your Sole has always served as a chance to shed light on the plight of the less fortunate in Singapore and for fellow Singaporeans to step up and lend us a helping hand.”
He added, “This year’s event is particularly special for us because we celebrate 10 years of good work through Project HomeWorks. My gratitude goes out to every participant, volunteer and corporate partner.”
Besides the walk, the participants will also get to learn more about the works that Habitat for Humanity Singapore does, both locally and overseas through a variety of fun and engaging activities.
