Come 23 August, you can catch Singapore’s Royston Wee in his second Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) tournament in Macau.
The UFC is the largest premier mixed martial arts organisation and pay-per-view event provider in the world, with its headquarters in Las Vegas.
Can Singapore’s Royston continue to make history?
Royston, who is competing in the Bantanweight Bout, will be up against debutant, Yao Zhikui from China, in his first fight this round.
Earlier this year, Royston had become the first Singaporean to take part in an international UFC tournament – and go on to win his debut fight. He is unbeaten in his last three games and hopes to continue this good form for the tournament.
World’s best are fighting it out in the arena
Besides Singapore’s Royston, you will also get to see some of the world’s best fighting it out at the UFC. These include Le from Vietnam and Bisping from Manchester, England – battling each other in the Octagon arena.By beating Le, a former champion, Manchester’s Bisping will ensure that he remains as one of the best in his Middleweight fighting division.
Welterweight Tyron “The Chosen One” Woodley, a conqueror of many of the top names in the sport, will also be up against the fast-rising Dong Hyun Kim from South Korea, who is currently ranked No 9 in the world.
