Want to have a dinner chat with two leading football stars, Manchester United’s Rio Ferdinand and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero?
Thanks to SingTel and Samsung, these two Manchester footballing rivals are coming to Singapore on 15 and 16 May.
Fierce competitors on and off the pitch, Ferdinand and Aguero will pit themselves against each other in the SingTel Game On! Challenge, to celebrate the Singaporean passion for football – in the lead-up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Win A Dinner Date
You can win a dinner date with these football stars. All you need to do is to purchase the newly-launched Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE from April 11 to May 8. Four lucky customers will win for themselves and a friend, a dinner date with the two football stars.
As well, buyers of the handset can also get player autographs on May 16. These will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis.
According to SingTel’s Vice President of Consumer Marketing, Mr Johan Buse, this opportunity gives football fans a “chance to get up close and personal with two of the game’s most popular players.”
The Ultimate Selfie Challenge
To get another chance to meet these football stars, you can take part in the Ultimate Selfie Challenge and shoot a creative photo of yourself enjoying a popular Singaporean activity from April 23 to May 4. The two stars will then choose their favourite fan selfie and the winner together with a friend, will be invited to meet the players at the exclusive dinner date – with the other winners. To qualify, don’t forget to hashtag your photos on Twitter with #SGGameOn
At the same time, Ferdinand and Aguero are also going to immerse themselves into Singaporean culture, through the same Ultimate Selfie Challenge.
They will use a Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE phone to take selfies of themselves participating in typical Singaporean activities, such as having makan at a hawker centre or standing in a queue. Fans have the chance to name and suggest these activities. For example, you could tweet: Take a selfie as you makan chicken rice at the hawker centre. #SGGameOn. These selfies will go up on the players’ Twitter pages and the footballer with the most number of retweets will win the challenge.
Ferdinand and Aguero will also be appearing at a football carnival during their stay in Singapore. They’ll pit their knowledge and skills in some football-themed challenges. Fans at the carnival can enjoy exclusive privileges on SingTel products and services.
These events involving the footballers, are part of SingTel’s new regional partnership with Samsung.
