Main gameplay is similar to Candy Crush Saga

The main gameplay of Candy Crush Soda Saga is rather similar to that of Candy Crush Saga. For example, the shapes and colours of the candies have been brought over to this sister game.

As well, the types of boosters, i.e. the striped candies, wrapped candies, colour bombs and lollipop hammers and so on, have been incorporated into Candy Crush Soda Saga, as well.

And in case you are wondering, yes, the annoyingly multiplying chocolate also features very strongly in Candy Crush Soda Saga. This feature too, is similar to that of the original Candy Crush Saga game – so good luck to you, with those chocolate levels, once you get there.

Two Differences between the games

However, that said, there are some notable differences between the games. As the name probably suggests, soda features very prominently in the Candy Crush Soda game.

Also, you can create the jellyfish candies by matching four candies in Candy Crush Soda Saga. This is unlike in Candy Crush Saga, where you have to either buy them as boosters or have them given to you in the game.

What are the types of levels available?

To sum it up in a nutshell, the types of levels available in Candy Crush Soda Saga are as follows.

  • Soda Levels – In the Soda Levels, you will have to collect a specific number of soda bottles, by matching these together with candies, in order to progress.
  • Frozen Levels – Here, you are required to match candies – to break the ice and free the gummy bears trapped beneath the ice.
  • Bubble Levels – Candies need to be matched, in order to propel the bears, which are trapped within a bubble, above the gummy necklace
  • Chocolate Levels – You must get rid of every single square of chocolate to progress. But if you make a single move without removing any chocolate, it will multiply.

How To Succeed at playing Candy Crush Soda Saga

Here are some tips on how to succeed at playing Candy Crush Soda Saga.

#1: The Key is saving the Candy Bears

As you may notice quickly after playing the first few levels, saving the candy bears is the key ingredient, to succeed in Candy Crush Soda Saga.

At the beginning, this is a simple task, as you will be able to easily see and match the candy bears on the screen – so you will easily be able to do so.

But as you progress, you will find this to be much more tricky, as you may have to propel them to the top row of your game board, to allow them to be playable.

Sometimes you may also have to free them from the ice. But when you are tasked with doing this, make sure that you focus on this as the first thing in the game. If you don’t, the colour of the candy bears will change – and this task will become so much more difficult.

#2: Random Assignment of Candy Bears

In each and every game board, the location of the candy bears is completely random. So if you didn’t manage to beat a level, do not worry – you may get better luck next time round. And this is especially true for the Frozen levels.

#3: Keep an eye out for the soda bottles

Keep an eye out for the soda bottles when you are playing this game – as they will speed up you progress. Whenever you see one on your screen, you must match it with the normal candies. By doing so, it will increase the level of soda that you can clearly see on your game board, and you will succeed at the level at a faster rate.

#4: Save up your colour bombs

When you get colour bombs, do not waste them and use them too soon. Many players tend to make this mistake.

Instead, try and save your colour bombs to remove irritating obstacles such as the liquorice, ice and of course, those pesky chocolate squares that will multiply like the plague.
