Cycling fans, hold your breath.
This 1st and 2nd of November, the Tour de France Singapore Criterium is back for the fourth time on the streets of Marina Bay.
Leading the line-up in the elite field is Jasper Philpsen who is aiming to reclaim the Criterium title he won in 2023. He was edged out by the legendary Mark Cavendish last year in his farewell race. The Belgium sprint specialist took the green jersey at the Tour de France 2023 and this year won the opening stage of the Tour to take the coveted yellow jersey. His appearance in Singapore gives local cycling fans a rare chance to see one of cycling’s most electrifying riders in action.
The 2025 Singapore Criterium promises to be a high-octane celebration of sport and city, with a refreshed route showcasing the best of Singapore’s sights and sounds. Some of Singapore’s most iconic landmarks will be featured including the Padang, Anderson Bridge and the Esplanade, combining world-class sport and a uniquely Singapore experience.
General access is free
Furthermore to add to the inclusivity of the event, general access will be free for all.
However for hardcore cycling enthusiasts who are looking for a premium vantage point to watch the action unfolding, grandstand and hospitality packages will be available, offering unrivalled views from the Singapore Recreation Club, the official venue partner of the event.
The packages offer cycling enthusiasts an unforgettable race experience in premium comfort while the free public entry showcases the event’s ambition to create a true national celebration of cycling, welcoming avid fans and newcomers alike.
Said Ms Agnes Goh, Managing Director, Evoke Exp, the event organisers, “The Tour de France Singapore Criterium has grown into one of the most exciting events on Asia’s cycling calendar. With free public access, new categories, and a refreshed festival experience, our ambition is to make this event more than a race. We want to turn it into an annual celebration of cycling for everyone, from lifelong fans to first-time visitors.”
Local cyclists can take part
Avid local cyclists will also get the chance to firsthand experience the thrill of the Tour de France Singapore Criterium on two wheels. On 2nd November, amateurs can take part in the Tour de France Singapore Criterium: À l’Attaque which has four distinctive formats for themselves to choose from.
The first is a time trial for road cyclists, where teams of two compete to cycle the furthest distance within the time limit of 30 minutes.
Open to both corporate teams and cycling clubs, it offers participants the chance to ride the same professional circuit as the elites, in a competitive format.
As well, solo rides will also be held for Masters (men aged 35 and above) and Women’s categories (aged 18 and above).
The final category is designed for the growing foldie community. This will be a sprint on the closed?loop circuit that offers foldable bike enthusiasts a unique opportunity to ride on a fully closed?road format.
The race begins with a distinctive starting twist, where participants must locate and unfold their foldable bicycle before taking to the course where the winner will be determined by the rider who completes the furthest distance in 20 minutes.
Said Yannick Talabardon, Race Director of Tour de France Singapore Criterium, “With the launch of this new mass participation format “Tour de France Singapore Criterium: À l’Attaque”, we’re happy to see that Tour de France Singapore Criterium is reinforced as an event that brings everyone together around the passion for cycling.”
Local company Anywheel to partner the event
Homegrown bike-sharing firm Anywheel is bringing the spirit of the Tour de France Singapore Criterium 2025 to the community with the following.
All through the month of October, users can ride the Pro Criterium route at their own pace using the new Explore Routes feature in the Anywheel app.
Finishing this challenge earns them rewards like an Anywheel Bike Pass and an exclusive Tour de France goodie bag.
Then, on 2 November itself, the Anywheel Community Cycle will offer the public a unique opportunity to cycle the iconic race course, for free, themselves, on an Anywheel bicycle.
Said Htay Aung, CEO of Anywheel, “We believe cycling should be for everyone, not just the professionals. Therefore Anywheel is proud to support the Tour de France Singapore Criterium for the second year running.”
And on the Anywheel Community Cycle, he added, “It’s not every day you get to ride on closed roads through the heart of the CBD, surrounded by Singapore’s iconic cityscape, without a single car in sight. It’s a chance to slow down and connect with the city and community.”
