KL StanChart Marathon 2025 announces Pacers line-up across all distances

Malaysia’s premiere distance running event, the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon, has announced its full line-up of pacers. There will be pacers for the Pantai KL 10km, ASICS Half Marathon and Full Marathon categories.

Said Rainer Biemans, Director, Dirigo Events and Project Director, KLSCM, “We are committed to providing the best pacers for our race and have selected capable seasoned runners through our pacer assessment process. We are confident that the individuals in this year’s group have the drive, passion and mental strength to lead their pace group and help their fellow runners get into their rhythm while motivating them.”

Pacers will be kitted out in exclusive ASICS gear to keep them comfortable and supported throughout the race. Each pacer receives a specially designed singlet made from 100% recycled polyester knot material for comfort and breathability and a forward shoulder seam to enhance freedom of movement while running. This is paired with a lightweight ASICS running short and a choice of three of ASICS’ latest performance shoe models – the Novablast 5, Gel Kayano 32 and Gel Nimbus 27, each offering support, cushioning and responsiveness for different running styles.

As well, each pacer will be given the ASICS Sonablast, the latest super trainer by ASICS, to keep the pace strong and the energy high for every runner around them.

Pacers to guide runners

The pacer team will guide runners for a wide range of times to cater to all running abilities – from 1 hour to 2 hours for the Pantai KL 10km, from 2 hours to 3 hours for the ASICS Half Marathon and from 3:45 hours to 7:15 hours for the Full Marathon. The pacers are a testament to the strong running community in Malaysia and their dedication will inspire runners to train for and compete in KLSCM.
