Run For Hope returns on Sunday 23 November 2025!

Singapore’s longest-running cancer awareness event is back.

The Run For Hope returns for its 32nd edition on Sunday 23 November 2025 at the Marina Barrage. Individuals and families are invited to take part in either the 5km or 10km events to raise funds and awareness for cancer research.

A vibrant day out!

Registration opened on June 16 at www.runforhopesg.com and this year’s event promises to be a vibrant day out complete with wellness and activity booths, games and more, to engage the community in the spirit of hope and healing.

Organised by Four Seasons Hotel Singapore and the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), Run For Hope rallied over 5,000 participants in 2024, raising over SGD $216,000 in supporting cancer research by NCCS.

Support vital cancer research

This year, Run For Hope aims to continue to support vital cancer research that aims to drive progress in early cancer detection, treatment and care for those who need it.

Said Peter Draminsky, Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, “Run For Hope has grown into more than just a run. It’s a heartfelt tradition that brings our people together in the spirit of solidarity and compassion.”

He continued, “Every year, we are inspired by stories of resilience and the steadfast support of our community.”

Cancer is real

Cancer is very real and a cure must be found, with the disease accounting for 29,901 deaths in 2018 – 2022.

As well, from 2018 – 2022, an average of 48 people were diagnosed with cancer daily. Despite these alarming statistics, advancements in early detection and treatment have improved survival rates for those affected by cancer.

Said Professor Lim Soon Thye, CEO NCCS, “At the National Cancer Centre Singapore, we see firsthand how every contribution fuels impactful research that leads to earlier diagnoses, improved treatments, and igniting hope for a future that is free from cancer.”

One of those personally benefitting by the progress in cancer treatment and diagnosis is Chiam Geak Onn, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in 2000. “How would you feel if your doctor told you that you had only six months to live?” reflects Chiam, now 64. “Would you give up, or would you fight for your loved ones and for more time? I chose to fight. Twenty-four years later, I’m still here. Advances in treatment and cancer care gave me a second chance at life.”

Chiam’s story is a powerful reminder of how contributions to cancer research can give hope and life to those who truly need it.
