Race Routes are now out for the StanChart Singapore Marathon 2025!

The countdown to the StanChart Singapore Marathon (SCSM) 2025 has begun, with the launch of the race routes. The routes are set to offer a blend of heritage architecture, panoramic waterfronts, lush gardens and vibrant city streets. With more than 45,000 registered runners including 11,400 international participants, anticipation is already building for what is set to be an unforgettable race weekend. The routes have been carefully redesigned to remove challenging elevation points such as Sheares Bridge, resulting in a flatter, faster course for those who are gunning for personal bests.

For the first time, the Marathon and Half Marathon will be held on separate days. The Kids Dash will also be held on Saturday morning to allow families to share in the race-day excitement together.

Saturday 6 December will kick off with the Half Marathon at 4:30am, beginning at the F1 Pit Building and moving towards the National Stadium before swinging back into the city past Suntec City and the Esplanade.

Runners will then cross Esplanade Bridge, pass One Fullerton (Merlion Park), the Promontory and weaving through Gardens by the Bay South.

Then runners will be taken across the Marina Barrage where they are greeted with beautiful sweeping views of the city skyline and the open sea before a turnaround along Gardens by the Bay East’s Skyline Promenade. The second half takes runners back over the Barrage, through the Gardens By The Bay, past Fullerton Hotel, and Singapore Cricket Club (SCC), before ending at the historic Padang.

The 5km category will begin at 6:30am on Saturday followed by the Kids Dash at 9:00am. With parents and supporters cheering on the little ones, it will be a morning of achievement and pride for the young participants.

Sunday 7 December will see the Marathon, Ekiden relay and 10km categories.

The Marathon course will begin at the iconic F1 Pit Building before heading down Republic Avenue toward the National Stadium, where runners loop around the Singapore Sports Hub.

The course then goes past Suntec City and the distinctive “Durian” domes of the Esplanade, before crossing Esplanade Bridge to One Fullerton (Merlion Park).

From there, participants will head into the Marina Bay district, pass by the Promontory and Marina Bay Financial Centre before finding themselves surrounded by the lush greenery in Gardens by the Bay.

The route then heads over the Marina Barrage into Gardens by the Bay East, then along the East Coast Park stretch to Laguna Flyover, offering scenic sea views. Runners retrace their steps back to the city, crossing the Barrage again, before passing Fullerton Hotel, Victoria Theatre, the SCC, before making the journey to the Padang to finish.

Along Marina East Drive, organisers will provide hydration points with chilled drinks, a cooling zone, water-gun entertainment, and even an ice pop station – as they anticipate this to be the hottest section of the Marathon route.

The Ekiden course is the same as that of the Marathon, with four runners teaming up to take on the course together. Each runner completes a set distance between 8.3km to 11.5km of the route before changing over to a team-mate. The full Ekiden breakdowns are as follows.

Sunday will conclude with the 10km race flagging off at 6:30am.

Says Jeff Edwards, Managing Director of Asia for The IRONMAN Group, organisers of SCSM, “Each route for this year’s Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon has been thoughtfully designed to highlight Singapore’s unique blend of heritage, urban vibrancy, and natural beauty.”
