Income Eco Run To Bring Back Popular Farmer’s Market

Last year, Income Eco Run introduced a Farmer’s Market that had coincided with the Race Pack Collection – to drive home the green message to runners and at the same time, encourage them to pick up healthy and environmentally friendly habits and practices.

Established in 1970, Income was first conceptualised to provide affordable insurance care to workers in Singapore. Today, two million people in Singapore look to Income for trusted advice and solutions when making their most important financial decisions.

Nowadays, Income provides life, health and general insurance products and services to service the protection, savings and investment needed of customers across all segments of society.

Promises to be bigger and better than previously

The Farmer’s Market, which had proven to be rather popular amongst runners and participants last year, is making a return and according to the organisers, it promises to be bigger and better than previously, with different stalls selling various sustainable produce, in addition to live entertainment and workshops too.

Last Year’s Farmer’s Market

I was at last year’s Farmer’s Market and I had thought that it was quite eye-opening, with plenty of samples to try and lots of new and interesting healthy products to look through.

Plenty of healthy food, workshops and clinics for everyone

So come April 14 & 15, when you come down to the F1 Pit Building to pick up your race pack, you can treat yourself to wholesome bites and drinks from a slew of local and eco vendors such as Beans To Bar, VeganBurg, Amazin’Graze and Bettr Barista.

Also, you can also learn how to DIY your own house and beauty products and fulfil your green finger dreams at various workshops that will be held throughout the event.

These include talks on Planning A Greener Diet – which will educate runners on the benefits of micro greens and how to implement them in your diet, and learn from Let’s Get Down To Earth – a workshop that teaches you how to start your own edible garden at home.

As well, there will also be running related talks on site at the Farmer’s Market and these include How To Improve Running Performance and this will be conducted by Jenny Huang, a marathon runner and physio with the Phoenix Rehab Group.

So there will definitely be something available to cater to everybody.

As for me, I am certainly eager to find out what Income has in store at the Farmer’s Market this year round and will be checking it out.

Bring your own reusable bags

But do note that when you go down to the Farmer’s Market, you are encouraged to bring your own reusable bag, cutlery, food containers and cups, in order to be eco-friendly.

The Income Eco Run takes place on the 29th April

The Income Eco Run takes place on 29 April 2018 with the first category, the 21.1km Half Marathon, flagging off at 5am. As well, there is also a 10km competitive run, the 5km Fun Run and Kids Dash categories – to cater to runners of differing preferences and abilities.

I will be taking part in the 21.1km Half Marathon and I am already looking forward to this eco-friendly running race.
