Come 5pm on August 20 this year, runners can again look forward to the return of the New Balance (NB) Run On.
Inaugural Singapore event last year was a success
According to the organisers, the inaugural event last year had been a success, attracting 4,000 runners taking part in a 5km race and then subsequently enjoying themselves at the post-race pop-up festival.
The Singapore race is part of the seven stops for the regional NB Run On series of events.
I had taken part in last year’s NB Run On (Singapore leg) and it had been an awesome experience, despite the less-than ideal PSI levels (which had surpassed a PSI of 150). I still recall that runners, including me, were already queuing up for the scrumptious food and drinks -even before we had started running! These had included fishballs, sng bao, hotdogs and popcorn – and most importantly, free-flow of beer.
As for the run itself, it had been a very scenic run through the Marina Bay area of Singapore, and we got to soak up beautiful sights such as the Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay and the Marina Bay Sands along the way.
The inaugural NB Run ON in 2015 was a success.
Relive the fun from last year

Well, there is good news for you. That’s because once again this year, runners will be able to enjoy great food and drink, awesome music, interesting activities and soak up the chilled vibes and atmosphere yet again.
The 2016 race will be 7km
To challenge runners further, the 2016 race will be 7km – this is 2km longer than last year’s race. But as with last year, though runners can run an additional 1km to earn for themselves a Limited Edition achievement badge, if they wish to.
This year, NB Run On is targeting 5,000 runners.

Prizes Awarded
Prizes will be given out to the top three males and females of every age group. The age groupings are as follows.
- 15 to 19
- 20 to 29
- 30 to 39
- 40 to 49
- 50 and above
Registation for NB Run On 2016 starts in May.
As well, the top male, female and mixed teams from each of the following categories will receive prizes too.
- Trackster School Challenge
- Vazee Open Challenge
- NBX Club Challenge
