If you love fast-paced football, here’s something to look forward to this July.
Faster Football is making its return to Singapore from 24 to 26 July 2026, and it’s bringing three days of high-energy, non-stop action to Our Tampines Hub. After a successful debut last year, the 7-a-side tournament is back and this time, it’s going even bigger.
What makes it different?
This isn’t your typical 90-minute match.
Faster Football is all about speed, intensity, and constant action. Matches are played in short bursts (just 7-minute halves), with multiple games happening every hour. That means there’s barely any downtime, just goal after goal, tackle after tackle.
It’s football, but faster, looser, and a lot more unpredictable.
Big clubs, global talent
This year’s lineup is stacked.
Fans can expect to see well-known clubs from top leagues like the English Premier League, Germany’s Bundesliga, Brazil, Japan, China, and Malaysia. Teams such as Borussia Dortmund, Leicester City, Coventry City, and Queens Park Rangers will be in the mix, alongside regional names like Shanghai Shenhua, PERSIB, and Yokohama F. Marinos.
And for a touch of Brazilian flair, Corinthians and Vasco da Gama are joining too.
Legends, local heroes, and everything in between
One of the coolest things about this tournament is the mix of players.
You’ll get former international stars, club legends, and regional icons all on the same pitch. Think Singapore greats like Shahril Ishak, Khairul Amri, and Lionel Lewis playing alongside European legends, sometimes within the same hour.
Even former Leicester City captain Wes Morgan is returning after last year’s win, and he’s clearly a fan of the format. The shorter games mean players need to be flexible, creative, and ready to switch roles at any moment: defenders attacking, strikers dropping deep, and everyone getting involved.
More than just football
It’s not just about the matches.
The entire venue will turn into a mini football festival, with food, drinks, entertainment, and chances to meet players. It’s designed to be family-friendly, so even if you’re not a hardcore football fan, there’s plenty to enjoy.
A growing global event
The tournament has come a long way in a short time.
When it first launched in Singapore in 2025 (then known as Soccer7sSeries), it already drew strong international attention. Matches were broadcast to over 200 territories, with millions tuning in online and tens of millions engaging on social media.
Now, Faster Football is positioning Singapore as a key stop on its growing global circuit.
Why this year feels even bigger
According to organisers and players, the timing couldn’t be better. The event is happening just a week after the World Cup Finals, meaning football excitement will already be at its peak.
As former Singapore star Abbas Saad put it, it’s shaping up to be one of the highlights of the year: world-class talent, a top venue, and Singapore right in the spotlight.
Final thoughts
If you’re into football that’s quick, exciting, and a little different from the norm, this is definitely one to check out.
More details on tickets and team lineups are expected soon, but for now, it’s safe to say: July is going to be a big month for football fans in Singapore
