Great Eastern Women’s Run 2022 back with physical races

For the first time since 2019, the Great Eastern Women’s Run is back with a physical all-women race on Sunday 20 November. The race did not take place in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the 2021 race took place as a fully virtual edition for runners.

Registration for the 2022 edition is now open at https://www.greateastern.run.

A key fixture at Great Eastern

Said Colin Chan, Managing Director, Group Marketing, Great Eastern: “We are really excited to welcome our stalwart supporters back to the Great Eastern Women’s Run (GEWR) a key fixture in our sponsorship calendar.”

He added: “With the return of a physical race this year, there’s no better tune for our ladies to come together and challenge themselves to go beyond their limits.”

Race categories

For the physical event, runners can join the 10km, 5km or 2km Mummy + Me categories.

The 5km event is priced from $32 and the 10km event from $49. Runners will receive an Adult Race tee shirt, exclusive race bag, a unique finisher medal and an e-cert.

The 2km Mummy + Me category is priced from $48 and both the mother and the kids will receive exclusive race tees and merchandise.

For the elites, there will be a 21.1km competitive race, which is only open to invited local elites.

Pre and post activities

To build hype and attention towards the race, there will also be pre and post race virtual and physical activities organised via the 42Race virtual platform.

These are targeted at helping runners ease into the momentum of running up to race day.

As well, runners can also bond with family and friends over these activities at subsidised rates.

Race Village returns

On race day, the post run Race Village will return for runners, together with their friends, families and kids to take part in fun activities such as geolocation games.

Giving back to the community

Through the race, Great Eastern hopes to give back to the community through two adopted charities – Daughters of Tomorrow and the Singapore Cancer Society.

Daughters of Tomorrow seeks to help women achieve financial independence to support their families.

Singapore Cancer Society provides patient care services to needy cancer patients, free cancer screenings as well as cancer awareness and prevention.

GEWR hopes to raise awareness and funds for these beneficiaries to provide them and their families with some relief.
