Complete 205.8km in 2022 with the City in Nature Virtual Run

This 2022, I will be taking part in the City in Nature virtual run, which is a 205.8km virtual run that commemorates Singapore’s beautiful parks and park connector networks.

Conserving Singapore’s natural heritage

The City in Nature challenge is created by online sports events company Spacebib, in partnership with NParks, Garden City Fund, to support their effort to conserve Singapore’s natural heritage. And Spacebib will donate $10 for every runner who signs up for the event before 1 January 2022.

With so many beautiful parks and green spaces in Singapore, including the Singapore Botanic Gardens, which is a UNESCO world heritage site, I think that there is definitely much greenery in Singapore that is worth preserving.

The Garden City Fund is a registered charity in Singapore, and was established by Singapore’s National Parks Board in 2002.

And today the Garden City Fund supports a wide array of projects that nurtures Singapore’s City in Nature vision.

Complete the distance as one or multiple activities

For the virtual event, participants can choose to complete the distance either as a single activity or in multiple activities with any running apps, pedometers, fitness devices, smartwatches and treadmill recordings being accepted.

There is no limit to the number of activities that a participant is allowed to submit.

Biggest single race medal in Singapore

Also, by taking part in this event, you will earn yourself what is arguably considered as the biggest single race medal in Singapore, at 230mm length x 121.5mm width by 3.5mm thickness.

This medal will symbolise the Singapore map and comprises of as much nature elements as possible, such as flowers and animals.

As well, it will also feature seven major park connectors section fused into one complete medal. And it is made of 100% recycled medals too, in order to support sustainability.

There are glow in the dark elements featured in the medal too, and it is packaged in a box accompanied by a beautiful printed lanyard. It sure sounds very impressive and I can’t wait to receive it.

Limited edition finisher tee

As well, besides the medal, participants who sign up for a limited time will receive an exclusive finisher tee made of 100% recycled  polyester fibres to reduce carbon and waste.

But do note that this tee retails for $49.90 and is only available while stocks last. So if you are keen to get your hands on one, do not hesitate. Otherwise you will miss out.
