Review: Sudio T2 True Wireless Earphones + 15% OFF PromoCode

The newly released Sudio T2 is expected to make waves in the earphones space, with its brand new redesign, eye-catching colour options and an all-new streamlined fit.

An improvement of the best-selling Sudio Tolv

Sudio T2, which launched on 17 September, is the latest generation of Sudio earbuds and is based on the best-selling Sudio Tolv model.

I admit that I still love my Sudio Tolv and I take it with me regularly when I go running – which is mostly when I need music and earphones. So when I heard from Sudio that the Tolv was undergoing a redesign, I simply could not wait to try out the new version for myself.

A complete redesign

Sudio T2’s performance is a great improvement of its predecessor, with features such as enhanced active noise cancellation technology, an upgraded quick charging capacity and focused beam-forming microphones.

The T2 redesign emphasises on sleek new curves that adorn the earphone and case, thereby giving it a modern aesthetic and the detachable strap opens up a new world of accessories and attachments.

Said Johan Gawell, CEO, Sudio, “We designed T2 from top to bottom with the listener in mind, enabling an incredible listening experience while making it accessible to everyone.”

A colour choice for everyone

The colours available for the T2 are White, Black, Jade and Sand, so this means there is a choice to match everyone’s preferences.

Sudio sent me a unit of the T2 to try out and review, and I opted for the eye-catching Sand colour. It was a difficult toss-up between Sand and Jade because both looked so pretty.

The arrival of the package had been somewhat delayed possibly due to clashing with the heavy logistic load of courier delivery services during 9.9 online shopping sales.

Sleek, slim and more streamlined

When they finally arrived, I immediately fell in love with the sleek, elegant look of the T2.

I thought that it appears to indeed be a slimmer and more streamlined version of the Tolv, true to Sudio’s promises.

Out of all my Sudio earphones (Tolv, Ett, Fem, Niva, etc), I’ve always felt the Tolv to be the easiest and smallest one to carry along with me on my runs and workout sessions – but the new and more compact look of the T2 certainly beats it.

Fidgety

I admit that my main gripe with the T2 is that if you have short fingernails, which I do most of the time, the design of the earbuds can feel a tad fidgety when trying to take them out of the case to put into my ears.

This is because they are smooth and slippery at first touch and don’t appear to have much of a grip. But then again, if they were rougher, that might be uncomfortable to the ears.

Other than that, I am quite impressed with the T2 and how Sudio has remade these earbuds.

Great fit

The fit is great, with several ear tips of various sizes provided in the box, to cater to everybody, regardless of what size your ears are. I found that the earphones fit me straight out of the box, so I have not needed to adjust the ear tips.

I have used them on several occasions during my runs, with the longest workout being a continuous two-hour 16km run.

Stays in place well

And I am quite pleased with how well the T2 stay in the ears without slipping out during my vigorous sweat sessions. This is thanks to the Sudio being sweat proof and splash proof, so they don’t get undone by sweaty ears or drizzling rain pattering down while I am running.

Compared to the Tolv, the size of the T2 are slightly larger, and I have found that this helps them to fit and stay put in the ears much better.

Good Bluetooth Signals

The sound also does not drop and the earphones are able to connect a good signal throughout the entirety of my runs without losing contact with Bluetooth at all.

Clear, crisp and impressive sound

In terms of the sound quality, it is very clear and crisp thanks to the beam-forming microphone array, where one mic is pointed outwards to capture the ambient sound and the other one is pointed inwards towards you.

The bass may be less dominant, but otherwise, I feel that the T2 is Sudio’s best true wireless earphone yet in terms of the sound quality. It is better than the Tolv many times over.

The balance and clarity of the sound is really great. And both the music and the podcasts that I have played using the T2 have been crystal-clear.

Also, the sound on the left and that on the right are very clearly defined and this makes the listening very enjoyable.

In fact, whilst listening to Forest 404, a fiction podcast about a dystopian future whereby nature has ceased to exist, while plugged into the T2, I could have sworn that the sounds were coming from my environment rather than from the podcast.

Even though I was running inside a park at the time, I actually looked up when I heard a car screeching, almost thinking that a car was actually approaching right in front of me. That’s literally how immersive being plugged into the T2 can be.

And to think that active noise cancellation was not on at that time.

Which brings me to the next point on…

Active noise cancellation

The Sudio T2 also has an active noise cancellation feature, which can come in handy if you are running loops at the park and have no need to hear the ambient sound surrounding you.

If you need to have full concentration during your Zoom meetings, such a feature can be useful as well. And I have to say that this feature lives up to Sudio’s high expectations, delivering clear, unparalleled sound.

However without the active noise cancellation, I have to admit that the sound quality is already pretty impressive for such a small device.

Touch controls

I have to say, however, that the touch controls, which are positioned on the metallic surfaces of the two earbuds, are a tad confusing.

These touch controls are supposed to enable actions such as adjusting the volume up and down, changing your music tracks, and pausing your music or answering a call.

Even though I should be used to Sudio’s products by now, I somehow still haven’t really been able to get a proper hang of these and always find myself reaching for my phone in order to adjust the controls instead.

I have always found these controls to be somewhat either too sensitive or not sensitive enough to my touch, including the controls on the T2. I guess there needs to have an easier alternative.

Battery Life

Together with the charging case, the battery life is 35 hours, which its more than enough to get you through a busy day or a long run session.

My new favourite earbuds

To conclude, I have to say that the T2 is definitely a massive improvement over the original Tolv, my previous favourite Sudio earbuds. It is more than the appearance; it is truly a much better and more immersive listening experience.

I think that if you are in the market for a good pair of true wireless earphones, I strongly recommend that you go for the Sudio T2.

In fact, I feel that I have just found my new favourite true wireless earbuds.
