Close to 13,500 participants from 438 companies took to the streets for the J.P.Morgan Corporate Challenge (JPMCC) last evening.

The 5.6KM run flagged off from the F1 Pit Building at 5:30pm. I arrived around 4:30pm and met up with my team for a quick photo before I headed into the start pens.
The green bibs were flagged off first. The race route was a straightforward route around the Marina Bay, with beautiful scenic views and an awesome vibe. I always enjoy this view and never tire of it.

The weather was super humid but at least the sun was not as burning as it has been earlier in the day.
There were two water points along the way serving up ice-cold water. I made it a point to stop at both because hydration is important when exercising in high humidity.
There were signages along the way which clearly marked out the kilometres and points along the route to take note, such as when water was ahead and when to look out for slopes or u-turns.
Due to the high humidity, I had to back off the pace I was running around the halfway point. My heart rate was soaring and I didn’t want to gas myself out.

There was a tunnel that we had to run through after the 4km point. Perhaps not the most scenic portion of the run, but at least the tunnel was short and it was over quickly.
Just before 5km, the cheer squad was super motivating and they really gave me the energy I would need for the final stretch.

All too soon, I rounded the corner for the final u-turn before the finishing straight. There was plenty of action an hype at the finish area, with music playing and runners who had already completed the run cheering on those who were yet to finish.
It had been a fun and enjoyable run, and now I could look forward to the after-party.
Winning the JPMCC this year were Pierre-Louis Gstalter from Qube Research and Technologies Singapore in 18:24 and Eleanor Tay from DBS Bank in 23:32.

Hosted by J.P.Morgan, the post-run party was awesome, with great vibes, good music and awesome food. This was definitely the best post-run party in Singapore. It was the best way to end off the evening and we all had a blast.

Said Wai Mei Hong, Senior Country Officer, J.P.Morgan Singapore, “The run celebrates community and teamwork. It’s a wonderful evening of bonding with clients and colleagues over fitness, food and fun.”
Wai added, “This year marks the 21st edition of JPMCC and we look forward to many more years of bringing together companies in the spirit of camaraderie, health and well-being.”
