Get $5 Off Lunch @ Clarke Quay Singapore With WaterB River Taxi Promotion

Now, you can enjoy $5 off a scrumptious lunch at Holey Moley Mini Golf Club, Harry’s Clarke Quay and Mimi Restaurant at Clarke Quay Singapore – if you take a WaterB river taxi from Boat Quay near Raffles Place MRT to Clarke Quay.

This promotion is valid on Mondays to Fridays 12pm-2pm from now till 10 March, excluding public holidays.

And at the same time, Clarke Quay is also having another promotion called Lunch By the Quay, where diners can choose one of 30 different set meals all priced at under $15++ or $25++ depending on the eatery.

The Lunch By the Quay promotion is valid daily from 12pm-3pm with the exception of special occasions, public holidays and the eve of public holidays.

So why not have both promotions at once – and enjoy a nice river cruise followed by a deliciously satisfying set meal – at a discounted rate?

I was recently invited to a media preview to both Clarke Quay’s $5 River Taxi and the Lunch By the Quay promotions. We started out at the WaterB river taxi booth near UOB Plaza at Raffles Place, where we took the 15-minute river taxi ride to Clarke Quay.  This ride typically costs $5.

While I have taken river cruises during my travels in London, UK and Berlin, Germany, the last time I took a river cruise in Singapore was many years ago; being on the WaterB river taxi cruising along the Singapore River. It felt as though I was a tourist in my home country.

We alighted in the heart of Clarke Quay and then from there, we headed straight to Harry’s Clarke Quay where we were treated to some appetisers – these were Harry’s Signature Fries and Laksa Popcorn Chicken.

I have to say that I rather enjoyed the popcorn chicken, as the laksa flavour gave an interesting twist to this classic finger food.

While you can choose anything on the menu to qualify for the $5 River Taxi Promotion, you will probably get the most value for your money if you opt for their Lunch By the Quay set meal promo.

This promotion consists of a two-course Western Set Meal for $19.90++ where you get a Main Course and a choice of either an appetiser or dessert depending on your preferences.

A few choices from the extensive Main Course Menu at Harry’s Clarke Quay include Beer Battered Fish & Chips, Chicken Tikka Masala and Katsu Pork Rice. So there is definitely something to cater to a variety of taste buds.

After our appetisers, we then headed to Mimi’s for lunch where we got to eat our choice of one of the three main courses which are featured in their Lunch By the Quay promotion. Our three options were the Stewed Lamb Shank, Pumpkin Seafood Congee and Mimi’s Old-School Curry Chicken.

Going with the popular choice, I picked the Stewed Lamb Shank, and it turned out to be delicious. The lamb was soft and came off the bone easily. It was also flavourful and tasty, thanks to the herbs and spices that had been used in the stewing.

It tasted so good that I polished off every single bite with relish. I had never known that lamb could be so delicious. Mimi’s lamb shank had been served with vegetables (carrots and Chinese parsnip) as well as a side portion of rice.

And for the Lunch By the Quay promotion, all set meals at Mimi’s also comes with a complimentary dessert and are priced at $16.80++.

As well, media guests were treated to a selection of a-la-carte Dim Sums, including Prawn & Spinach Dumplings, Siew Mai and the Pan Fried Carrot Cake.

As part of the Lunch By the Quay promotion, these Dim Sums are chargeable for an additional $5 each. The Prawn & Spinach Dumplings were the nicest of the lot, in my opinion.

To round off our meal, we walked over to the Holey Moley Mini Golf Club for dessert. We were served with their signature Sugar Caddy cocktail ($19++).

This consists of Ketel One Vodka, lychee liquor, cranberry and lime juice shaken with blueberry puree and topped with the Holey Moley candy kebab – the latter of which turned out to be a sour gummy candy ribbon twirled together with a sachet of popping candy.

I usually have a sweet tooth, but even I had felt that the sugar rush from this cocktail, was a bit too much for my taste buds. It’s just pure sweet, and not much else.

But the exploding of the popping candy in my mouth felt quite nice when I combined this with a mouthful of cocktail – that reminded me of my childhood when I used to buy these from the mama shop.

Priced at $18++, Holey Moley’s Lunch By The Quay menu consists of a choice of any one of their burgers or hotdogs served with a choice of soft drink, wine or beer.

Media guests also got to enjoy a round of nine holes of Holey Moley’s mini-golf, and always game for something sporty, I took up the challenge.

With wacky themed holes such as PacMan, Simpsons, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Game Of Thrones, I felt that the designs were very creative and made playing mini-golf a lot more fun. By far, the most intriguing had to be the three holes in the dark.

As well, the holes are also highly Instagrammable and I had a field day posing for photos at some of them. It was pretty cool to get to sit on the Iron Throne – and in line with their theme, Holey Moley’s version is aptly designed using golf clubs.

In terms of the difficulty level though, most of the holes that I was assigned to didn’t pose too much of a challenge – except the hole which featured a crazy mega-loop which I struggled with. Holey Moley estimates that most people would be able to finish a round of nine holes in between 20 to 40 minutes.

With the purchase of every set lunch at Holey Moley, diners will also be entitled to a free round of nine holes of golf.

Upon the conclusion of the event, media guests had the option of taking the River Taxi back to Raffles Place if we wanted, but I opted to stay at Holey Moley to finish off my round of golf because I had been having so much fun.

It had been a great afternoon out, and I feel that making use of Clarke Quay’s lunch promotions at their various eateries is a good excuse to visit Clarke Quay to enjoy a meal as well as some quality time out with colleagues and friends.
