Virtual Reality Experiences For F1 Singapore GP Set To Bring Fans Closer to the Action

Three exclusive virtual reality (VR) experiences are now available to bring Singaporeans closer to the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix.

With the new technology, users will be able to experience the action from a whole new dimension.

Prior to the race weekend, which will be on 20 – 22 September, fans will be able to experience, for free, the Marina Bay Street Circuit – on board Formula One driver Max Verstappen’s Red Bull Racing, go on a guided tour and explore the massive Circuit Park, all in 360 degrees – and furthermore, without breaking a sweat too.

F1 Power Up Community Series

These VR experiences are one of several fan-friendly activities under the F1 Power Up community series which was launched in the lead up to the night race.

And these unique VR experiences will be making pit stops around Singapore until September 2019 via the F1 Power Up Truck, which will also give Singaporeans insights into how technological advances in Formula One has impacted our daily lives.

Members of the public can also race on the Singapore track under the lights in hyper-realistic conditions on race simulators.

The top 100 challengers who have the fastest lap times will be invited to the F1 Power Up Challenge Finals in September – where they stand to win a pair of Pit Grandstand, Connaught Grandstand or Stamford Grandstand tickets to the Formula One Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix.

The Marina Bay Circuit Walking Tour

As well, F1 fans will also be able to go on a complimentary guided tour at the Marina Bay Street Circuit to see what it takes to set up a street circuit in the middle of downtown Singapore, for the race.

Through the tour, fans will glean first-hand insights into the inner workings of the Paddock, go behind the scenes to visit the team garages and hospitality homes and visit restricted areas like the media centre, race control room and the podium.

And for the first time, fans can also get an up-close view of the race cars and the pit crew in action at the team garages when F1 comes to town – via the Thursday Pit Lane Experience.

This is because each guest on the Marina Bay Circuit Walking Tour will receive a free pair of passes for the Pit Lane Experience.

Registration for the Marina Bay Circuit Walking Tour is currently open at www.singaporegp.sg/powerup

The Thursday Pit Lane Experience

For those who just wish to go for the Thursday Pit Lane Experience, this is also available again this year.

Usually accessible exclusively to Formula One Paddock Club ticket holders during race weekend, everyone can enjoy this experience, completely free of charge, the day before the Circuit Park opens.

4,000 lucky fans will get to walk along the Formula One pit lane on 19 September (Thursday) for a close-up and exclusive view of the race cars and see the pit crew in action.

Ballot for a pair of passes for the Thursday Pit Lane Experience from now till 25 August at www.singaporegp.sg/powerup.
